It’s okay to be natural. Marketing today is different than in recent years. Consumers are used to having things shoved down their throats with ads, calls, and the dreaded pop-up. So it is essential to treat new prospects in a nurturing manner. The biggest thing you can do to help a new potential client is to be natural. Explain your unique selling proposition in a way that the buyer can understand. This is not to say you shouldn’t be the expert but rather make sure you are speaking your target market’s “language.” If you specialize in a medium that uses specific words or phrases, try to use other terms, the prospect may better understand. It does you no good to try and sell a product or service that no one knows about or can’t comprehend.
